symbols for hypo/hyperglycimia

Hey everyone I just tripped over the trigger for my genes last year and so I am newly diagnosed with type I. I am going to Burningman next year and want to do a piece about living with type one. I plan to construct a tube with a spliced rope through it so I can walk a "tightrope" that never ends. I want to paint a red line down the center of my body and then on one side paint symbols that represent the possible effects of hypoglycemia, i.e. the shakes, confusion, anger, lack of coordination and on the other possible effects of hyperglycimia, i.e. loss of feet, blindness etc. Anyone have any ideas for other symbols that I could use?

This is a little off topic, but I'm wondering how do you plan on keeping your insulin cold? Ice? I would like to go camping but not being able to keep the insulin cold doesn't allow long primative hiking/ camping. Thanks

I've been going to Burning Man for a few years - I have type one and use two kinds (three one year) of insulin out there - and I kept my insulin cold with freezable gel packs. Use one in your carry case, switch it out with one being kept in a cooler, repeat.

This works because ice is readily available at Burning Man and you have a camp that's near by.

I've also gone on multiple day hikes and used a similiar system, or just kept it in an insulated pack without any kind of freezer/cooler. Insulin doesn't have to be kept super cold or in the refrigerator at all times, it just can't be in really hot temperatures, so if you're hiking in a temperate climate, it shouldn't be a problem.

I also have a small thin thermos that I can slip some ice and my insulin into so that it doesn't get too cold (I love me some dry ice on the playa) so it tends to last a day. That and daily trip to camp artica.

I have been going to BM for 10 years and have no problems. Now that I have a pump, I can carry it in my pod belt with something to keep it cool. My other signs of lows are blurred vision and dingyness. Cant wait to see your project on the playa.
