My daugther is eating a lot, any advise?

Hi everyone. On Dec. 11th, my 5 year old daugther was diagnosted with Type 1. Her doctors are still trying to figure out her insulin dosage/ carb allowance. It's been a pretty tough week. Anyhow, she's eating nonstop. She spent almost the whole weekend in the kitchen. Her favorite foods are yogert, bananas, pizza and apples. All are now restricted to the counting. Now it's Jello, cheese and beef dogs. Any suggestions? Did anyone else go through an incredible hunger period at first? We were told that it's because her body is trying to catch up from where it couldn't get any nutrition from the food she was eating, basically starving.

I've been reading some of the post all of you have posted, its been hard to do. Especially the ones about your health problems. This is pretty scary stuff to me.

Thanks.
